It’s A Curious World
Growing up, I loved to read. I would get lost in a good book for hours and looking back on it, losing myself in these characters was indicative of my future life. As an adult, I became lost in the words ‘spouse’ and ‘mother’. I moved to the sunken black and white script of these characters (or what I assumed they should be), and allowed the dissolution of color. I watched myself move around and above them, but never apart of them. In 2019, I had an epiphany that it was possible to embody these characters but they were not all I could ever be. I went back to my childhood love of worlds between pages but this time I would create the space… no longer being lost in them, but apart of them.
Now, I am an MBA-HCA recipient; a blogger;an up and coming children’s book author; a wife; a mother, a sorority sister, a friend…a character with many plots. This website is an intimate conversation of things our parents never told us about marriage, parenthood, friendship and the importance of never losing yourself in the titles. This website is a manifesto of lessons we never knew we needed growing up. Ultimately, this blog is a reminder of what it feels like to brave the mental, emotional and physical challenges of growing up in a curious world. I will explore those concepts with you by introducing my children’s books and highlighting things and people I feel are important in life’s journey.
